It Still Rains

This is another old song that I keep dusting off. It speaks to the pain of alcoholism and offers the perspective that all trouble will pass as surely as the rain will fall.

I'm on my knees counting change, cant help but feel the pain

Drown my sorrows in a bottle, just to find my way

Trying hard to levitate, get some money, move away

Eating supper from a can, it's time to be a man

Growing pains, heartache

Times change, but it still rains

Growing pains, playing games

The day fades, but it still rains

I'm on my knees by the heater, hands wrapped around a liter

Both the sides my dime lose, swearin' times a cheater

Trying hard for me to be, the greatest version of me

Tears drop on my speaker, a mud of dust and ether

Growing pains, heartache

Times change, but it still rains

Growing pains, playing games

The day fades, but it still rains

And I heard that when it rains it pours

Sound advice from soggy hearts I'm sure

Let it fall beside them from my eyes

It reminds me that I'm still alive

Now I say that when I rains I live

Soaked in the truth of what a poison is

Growing pains, heartache

Times change, but it still rains

Growing pains, playing games

The day fades, but it still rains
